Neighborhood Design Sessions: Old Oakland

I want to personally invite you to join the upcoming Neighborhood Design Sessions as part of the Downtown Oakland Specific Plan. Since your important work in the restaurant/retail/market communities touches on issues that are city-wide, below are all the dates for each neighborhood. Please share with your veteran’s community as well in hopes that they will be able to attend the session that suits where they work, live, enjoy, or go to school, your service is appreciated and the voices of veteran’s are needed in this process! Postcard images are attached. (locations to be announced).
- Saturday, 2/10 – Central Core @ 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Saturday, 2/10 – Uptown & KONO @ 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday, 2/11 – Old Oakland @ 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Tuesday, 2/13 – Chinatown @ 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
These are hands-on, interactive sessions where you can indicate the problem areas and opportunity sites in your neighborhood as well as your ideas around potential strategies that are specific to your community.
We’d really love to see you there! This is a great opportunity to uplift your work and expertise and share your real concerns, visions, goals, and ideas for your neighborhood.
Let’s make sure that downtown Oakland serves you, your family, your friends, and community in ways that are important to you now and in the future.

The Downtown Oakland Specific Plan will guide downtown’s growth and development for the next 20 years, and will create a model for future neighborhood specific plans in Oakland, as well as inform similar planning processes throughout the state and nation.
