On this Labor Day, we want to take a minute to celebrate the people that work in small businesses. Since 1995, small businesses have generated over 65% of the new new jobs and currently over 50% of the working population (120 million people) works in a small business (source).
While the jobs that workers in small businesses have are as varied as the businesses themselves, we know that the impact of small businesses in our communities relies on workers. As a small business, the owners often move away from doing the daily work of the business and rely on a team of workers so they can focus on growing the business. Without great employees, business growth can be much more difficult. Because employees are an important part of the success of small business, we want to appreciate them on today, Labor Day.
Thank you, small business workers! The daily work YOU do to keep the businesses running is the backbone of our local economies, and we wish you a happy Labor Day.
