Karolyn Wong supports key initiatives for Main Street Launch, including the City of San Francisco’s Invest in Neighborhoods initiative in Chinatown. Karolyn works with the City of San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development, Mayor’s Office, and community partners to support economic and workforce development in the city’s Invest in Neighborhoods. Karolyn previously supported Main Street Launch’s Business Sustainability Program (BSP) with the City of Oakland and AC Transit, working with merchants in Oakland’s Chinatown, Fruitvale and Downtown neighborhoods to minimize temporary and permanent business interruption during the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) construction.

 

Karolyn holds a B.A. in Sociology from UC Berkeley, and is a certified paralegal. She previously worked in employment-based immigration law as an Immigration Assistant with Berry, Appleman & Leiden, LLC. Karolyn has also worked in public television with Independent Television Service, helping to coordinate initiative funding to increase representation of filmmakers and communities of color in public media.
