Dan Perata Training, Inc., located in San Francisco, California, is a full-service canine behavior and care facility integrating training, boarding, and daycare. Founded in 2009 by husband and wife team Dan Perata and Natasha Koral, Dan Perata Training leverages decades of training and behavior experience to help dog owners build successful, balanced, and healthy relationships with their canines. The company is a second-chance employer, actively hiring individuals with past barriers to employment. They currently have 10 FTE employees. Their mission is to transform pet-owner relationships through consistent, evidence-driven methods that balance compassion with leadership.

Dan grew up training hunting dogs and has over 35 years of experience in canine training, behavior modification, and rehabilitation. He founded Dan Perata Training to address the lack of integrated behavioral programs in the San Francisco pet care market. Dan developed “The Box,” a patent-pending controlled-environment training system for aggression and reactivity rehabilitation. “The Box” sets Dan Perata Training apart by enabling safe, repeatable rehabilitation for dogs with aggression or reactivity issues, a demographic largely underserved in the broader market. The company works hard to not turn away anyone who needs help with their dog.

CEO Natasha Koral brings over 30 years of executive and operational leadership experience across sales, technology, and service industries to Dan Perata Training. Natasha spearheads operations and manages day-to-day business functions. With her ability to balance hospitality and profitability, she shaped programs like sliding-scale pricing, which reinforced the business’s value of compassion while also driving sales. Under Dan and Natasha’s leadership, Dan Perata Training has built a robust referral network and an excellent reputation for consistent training results with reliability in complex behavioral outcomes.

In 2025, the business pivoted from relying on training as its main source of revenue to expand to offer boarding and daycare services for new clients, not just training graduates. Dan Perata Training is the only San Francisco pet care provider offering this integrated suite of services for pet owners.

In order to grow the business around this new strategy, Natasha and Dan recognized a key need to invest in marketing, operational software improvements, and staff training and retention. However, the business’ cash flow was impacted by high-interest credit card debt.

Working with Main Street Launch, they were able to refinance this debt and gain working capital to achieve their business goals. Most crucially, the debt refinance created a 61% monthly cash flow savings for the business. The funding also allowed the owners to make necessary investments in the business, which accelerated revenue growth through elevated marketing, increased operational capacity, and refined client acquisition strategies.

Reflecting on her experience working with Main Street Launch, Natasha said, “In all the years I have been a business owner, I have never met a group of people so dedicated to helping my company succeed.”
