The Oakland Business Assistance Center and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, Legal Services for Entrepreneurs have partnered to provide a free legal clinic for low-income entrepreneurs. Participants will have 30 minutes to explain their legal issues, ask questions, and receive advice from an attorney.
Understanding the difference between employees and independent contractors can mean the difference between peace and penalties. Misclassifying workers can lead to additional taxes, penalties, and interest, borne solely by the business owner. Be aware that your worker or a
